Ban on heavy vehicle between Laruri and Mimi Kohima, November 5 (MExN): The Lüruri Development Council (LDC) resolved on October 29 to check the “land encroachment and the smuggling of pine wood by some citizens of Mimi range under Pungro Sub-Division.” Lüruri Development Council General Secretary, RK Thexiri in a press release stated that the recently constructed mining road between Laruri – Mimi has been totally damaged due to plying of heavily loaded trucks. Also the reserved pine forest is on the verge of being completely destroyed. “Hence, plying of heavily loaded trucks and four wheeler trucks shall be prohibited on Laruri – Mimi route until further notification is served by the LDC,” Thexiri informed.     Daklane Panchayat's social work Kohima, November 5 (MExN): As festive season is closing in Daklane panchayat, Kohima today organised a mass social work. Hundreds of people participated in the social work. The social work also organised in view of the upcoming Hornbill Festival where hundreds of tourists are expected to take part. The panchayat while thanking the residents for taking part in the cleanliness drive asked people to keep surroundings clean.     Supervision visit in Asetkong range Mokokchung, November 5 (MExN): Chief Medical Officer, Dy CMO, DPO (RCH&UIP) and NHM officials of Mokokchung District conducted monitoring and supervision visit to different health units in Asetkong range on November 3 and visited Longchang PHC, Sungratsu SC, Kubolong SC, Khanimu SC and Longpa SC. The monitoring and supervision was done according to the facility wise checklist. During the visit, the CMO requested the health workers to be sincere and dedicated in serving the people and he also strictly mentioned not to keep proxy workers.     LUPBA’s Tokhu Emong Dimapur, November 5 (MExN): The Lotha Union Purana Bazar Area (LUPBA) will be celebrating the Lotha Tokhu on November 7 at Darogajan Kushiabill Sports Complex, from 9 AM. The Tokhu speaker will be Rev. RP Murry, Chairman Dimapur Christian Forum. A press note from the union President M Yanthan IAS (Retd) and General Secretary Stephen Tsenthungo has requested all the Lothas residing under East Dimapur to attend the celebration.
