
Science exhibition at Bethesda Hr. Sec. School Dimapur, November 6 (MExN): Bethesda Hr. Sec. School organised a science exhibition of working models and projects developed by the students from classes LKG to 12 on November 5 at the new campus of the school here. The exhibits cut across the academic subjects – Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Astrology and Geography. “It was interesting to notice the enthusiasm of young ones to exhibit their creativity and talents in manipulating the materials to project scientific principles. Inculcating creativity and manipulation of locally available materials to produce useful things enhances aesthetic sense,” stated a press release. Over 100 major and minor projects, including craft items and flower arrangements, were showcased by the students. The exhibition was inaugurated by Y. Mhathung Murry, Additional Commissioner of Taxes, Dimapur. In his speech, he emphasized on the need of awareness of the deteriorating physical environment. He added that science mindedness is essential to face the challenges today. Earlier, Rev. Moses Murry said the invocation prayer. MCTE celebrates National Unity Day Mokokchung, November 6 (MExN): Mokokchung College of Teacher Education (MCTE) celebrated National Unity Day on November 5 at the conference hall of the institute under the theme ‘All for one and one for all’. During the programme, which began with an invocation prayer by Angap, 1st semester trainee, a ten minutes video clip on the biography of Sardar Vallabhai Patel was shown, which was followed by solidarity greetings delivered by Bendang, 1st semester trainee. Suchemshe and group presented a song titled ‘We are Unity’. The day was also marked by presentation of one act plays titled ‘Four sons and a father’, ‘If we unite nobody falls’ by the trainees of 1st semester. The programme was attended by the principal, all the teaching and non-teaching faculty and the 1st and 3rd semester teacher trainees. Meyijungla chaired the programme, while vote of thanks and benediction was delivered by Roselin and Yimsurenla respectively.
