The Longpayimsen Village Council while informing this in a press note expressed appreciation on behalf of the villagers for conducting the programme. LVC, Chairman, Sashi Aier in the note stated that the eradication of our myths and misconceptions of HIV and AIDS through the sensitization programme is the fundamental positive outcome and added that “it will surely pave the way to banish stigma and discrimination from our society as well as from our mentality.”
The Council also expressed optimistic view that the sensitization programmes will be a grand success though the mission to share the information on HIV and AIDS in the villages of Mokokchung district is a daunting task. The LVC also encourages all villagers to turn up in large numbers during such sensitization programmes at their villages as sharing and absorption of HIV and AIDS information is the first step in the fight against the HIV and AIDS. “The participation of every individual will surely contain the epidemic in Mokokchung district,” the council added.
