Participants of the joint consultative meeting.

Dimapur, January 16 (MExN): The Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC), in collaboration with the Apex Tribal Hohos— Ao Senden, Lotha Hoho, and Sumi Hoho convened a joint consultative meeting at the Ao Senden headquarters in Mokokchung. The meeting focused on the ongoing foothills road construction under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) scheme.
After extensive deliberations, the committee and the Hohos unanimously reaffirmed a resolution originally adopted in 2013, declaring that no compensation would be paid to any individual, clan, or village related to the foothills road construction. Any violations of this resolution would invite strict action from the committee and the HOHOs, without exception.
The meeting further established that contractors or firms awarded work orders under the SASCI scheme must sign implementation agreements with the NFHRCC within three days of this announcement, no later than January 20, 2025. Failure to do so would render the firms ineligible to carry out work within the jurisdictions of the three Hohos. In such cases, the committee, alongside the Hohos, would petition the concerned department to cancel the existing work orders and issue new ones to firms deemed capable of executing the project effectively.
The NFHRCC emphasized the limited working season and stressed that delays caused by non-compliance could jeopardize the historic road project. Any disruption would make defaulting contractors or firms accountable to the Naga public.
The resolutions were signed by NFHRCC officials Supu Jamir (Convenor), Hokiye Yepthomi (Co-Convenor), W. Lemba Chang (Secretary), and Chenithung Humtsoe (Assistant General Secretary), who can be contacted for further details.
