DIMAPUR, MARCH 24 (MExN): The Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) today informed that it held a deliberation with the Sumi Hoho in Dimapur on March 22 with regard to the Foothills Road project.
A press release from the NFHRCC said that “after hearing both side of the issue, it was resolved that Sumi Hoho will stoutly stand by the committee and whatever statement has been lamented by the committee will be communicated to the concerned.” It was also resolved that “whatever issues and shortcomings that has crept in while safeguarding the sanctity of historic project has been amicably sorted out under the spirit of forgive and forget.”
The NFHRCC expressed regret if any one’s sentiment was hurt during the recent debate “while painstakingly advocating and defending our survival road under the guidance of 12 Apex Tribal Hohos for the last 13 years running.” It was also resolved to press upon the concerned department to let the unsigned contractors sign the MoU at earliest as assured on March 5 by the Chief Engineer PWD (R&B), Nagaland.
The committee further urged the department concerned not to release any bill till a joint Inspection is done by the department, the committee and the contractor’s firms.
