NFHRCC gives State Govt till Sept 12 to address demands

DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 3 (MExN): The Nagaland Foothill Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has decided to give the Nagaland Government till September 12 to address its demands regarding making the Foothill Road pliable.

This comes a day after the State Government had requested the committee to “hold back” its proposed agitation. The NFHRCC had set a 30 day deadline in its ultimatum to the State Government to address the former’s demands.

The decision to give more time to the government was taken during a meeting with Dimapur based tribe hohos, student bodies, youth organizations and CNSA on September 3. It however cautioned that if there is no positive outcome from the government’s end, as warned earlier, the NFHRCC would resort to the indefinite agitation from September 13.

Meanwhile, the meeting also resolved that a consultative meeting comprising of the Foothills road tribal organisations, students’ bodies and youth organisations will be held on September 7 at 3:00 pm at NFHRCC base office, Kher Mahal, Dimapur to work out the next course of action.
