Dimapur, February 5 (MExN): NFHRCC today urged all the 60 elected legislatures to adopt a resolution in the upcoming Assembly session in support of further expediting the “Mega Project (Trans Nagaland Expressway)” and ventilate it to the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) for declaring the project officially at the earliest.

In the meantime, a press release from the Nagaland Foothills Road Co-ordination Committee (NFHRCC) stated that it would be wise to maintain at least a “Jeep-able road” to ease the inconvenience by faced by commuters especially during bandh and agitation in Assam.

The NFHRCC had resolved to appeal to the concerned authority to clear-up the stretch for the earth cutting executed during 2013-14  under Mon, Mokokchung, Dimapur and Wokha or Baghty Divisions, it said.

The Doyang Bridge at Governor’s camp, Liphanyan-Koro is in progress and expected to be completed within this working season and once the bridge construction is completed, the foothills road will survive by default as the earth cutting, barring few, is done in almost all the stretches, it added.

The NFHRCC, in the release issued by its Convenor, Supu Jamir; General Secretary, W Lemba Chang; and Assistant GS Chenithung  Humtsoe, also expressed appreciation to the initiative undertaken by the Chief Minister, the Deputy  Chief Minister and Chief Engineer  PWD (R & B), while further expressing their desires to expedite the completion of the remaining uncut portions at the earliest.
