NFHRCC reiterate appeal to endorse foothill road project

DIMAPUR, JULY 5 (MExN): The Nagaland Foothill Road Co-ordination Committee (NFHRCC) has reiterated its appeal to the Nagaland Government to endorse the foothills road project to NEC on priority during FY 2023-2024 in view of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly resolution of September 22, 2022.

In a press statement, the NFHRCC stated that the mother of all developments is road and unlike other states, Nagaland state is lacking behind in many areas due to poor connectivity.

It maintained that the foothills road in question is not only for transportations and communications as the entire stretch from Khelma to Tizit are enveloped with resources in view of it will be the “gateway for all round developments and healing touch for the Nagas as all the components for economic growth and developments are encompassed.”

It stated that the importance of foothills road is well exhibited by Nagaland Legislative Assembly resolution of September 2022 which it pointed out is as same as the voice of the Naga people.

Having examined the history of Assembly resolutions adopted by the legislatures at different points of time, it pointed out that the resolution dated 22-09-2022 is also one of the historic resolutions whereby all the 60 legislatures made a unison voice and unequivocally accepted by the entire Naga public.

Urging the state government to respect and honor the historic resolution by implementing it both in letter and spirit, it espoused hope that the project will not miss the bus during this financial year.

It stated that if the same remains unattained, “it will be a very costly affair as it will amounts to anti-development, anti-youth, anti-educated unemployment and anti-people and finally it will be an act of betrayal of Naga people.”
