Dimapur, July 31 (MExN): Members of the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) Bharat Scouts & Guides have undertaken a flood relief collection and distribution initiative to assist families affected by the recent floods in Assam.
According to a press release issued by NFR Chief Public Relations Officer Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, a Flood Relief Collection and Distribution Booth was set up at the NFR headquarters in Maligaon from July 27 to 31. The relief collection drive was inaugurated on July 27 by the Principal Chief Personnel Officer (PCPO) of NFR in the presence of senior officers, officials and members of the Bharat Scouts & Guides.
The release stated that railway staff and members contributed essential relief materials for flood-affected families as part of the campaign.
As part of the outreach, members of the NFR Bharat Scouts & Guides, Mariani District Association, distributed relief materials to affected families in Sibsagar and Jorhat districts. The volunteers also interacted with residents and sought to ensure that relief supplies reached those in need.
