Guwahati, October 4 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to change timings of passenger train running between Silchar and Jiribam and provide more services of the Vistadome Special train in October in addition to current services.
The additional services are Guwahati - New Haflong - Guwahati and New Jalpaiguri - Alipurduar Junction - New Jalpaiguri Vistadome special.
Operational days and timings of the passenger special trains connecting Jiribam in Manipur with Silchar in Assam will be changed from October 7 to facilitate better communication and fulfill a “long standing demand of people of Jiribam.”
It is part of the NFR’s initiative to cater the needs of the passengers and to fulfil tourists’ demand during upcoming festive season, informed a press release from its Chief Public Relations Officer, Guneet Kaur.
The details of stoppages and timings of these trains are available on IRCTC website and are also being notified in various newspapers and social media platforms of NFR, it said, further requesting the passengers to take of these details before undertaking their journey.
Passengers are requested to observe the Covid-19 related safety measures and instructions of their respective states during journey, it added.
New schedule for Silchar – Jiribam Trains services
• Train No. 05659 Silchar – Jiribam passenger special will run two days a week- on Monday and Wednesday leaving from Silchar at 4:55 PM to reach Jiribam at 8PM. From Jiribam, the train will run twice a week on Tuesday and Thursday leaving Jiribam at 6AM to reach Silchar at 9-20AM.
Additional Vistadome Special trains:
• Train No. 05890/05891 Guwahati - New Haflong - Guwahati Vistadome special with stoppages at Manderdisa and Maibong stations will run on October 5,7,8,10,11,12,14,15 and 17.
The train will leave from Guwahati at 6:35AM hours to reach New Haflong at 11:55 AM. In return direction, the train will leave from New Haflong at 5PM hours to reach Guwahati at 10:45PM.
• Train No. 05779/05780 New Jalpaiguri - Alipurduar Junction - New Jalpaiguri Vistadome special, with stoppages at Siliguri Junction, Sivok, New Mal Junction, Chalsa, Madarihat, Hasimara and Raja Bhatkhawa stations, will run on October 6, 11,12,13 and 18. The train will leave from New Jalpaiguri at 7:20 AM to reach Alipurduar Junction at 1PM. In return direction, the train will leave from Alipurduar Junction at 2PM hours to reach New Jalpaiguri at 7PM.
