NFR conducts health camps, food safety training

Maligaon, July 26 (MExN:) As part of its continuous efforts to promote the health and wellbeing of railway personnel and ensure food safety standards across its jurisdiction, the Medical Department of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) undertook several key initiatives during the month of July 2025.

A series of health check-up camps were conducted at multiple locations including the Railway Protection Force Barrack, Principal Chief Security Commissioner/HQ and NFR Headquarter at Maligaon over the past two weeks.

These camps were aimed at monitoring and improving the health status of staff. A total of 220 Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and 200 other railway staff underwent comprehensive health check-ups during these camps.

In another significant initiative, a Food Safety Training and Certification (FOSTAC) program, under the guidance of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), was organized at Dimapur Railway Station.

The training was conducted in collaboration with the Dimapur State Food Safety Authority. 

The program focused on sensitizing and training food vendors, food handlers, and food business operators operating at the station on hygiene practices and safety protocols mandated by FSSAI, stated a press release issued by Kapinjal Kishore Sharma, Chief Public Relations Officer, NFR.
