MALIGAON, MAY 4 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has announced the extension of services for three pairs of special trains and revised the timings of select trains in an effort to meet increasing passenger demand and improve operational efficiency.
The periodicity of the following special trains has been extended -Train No. 09623/09624 (Udaipur City – Forbesganj – Udaipur City), Train No. 01405/01406 (Kolhapur – Katihar – Kolhapur) and Train No. 09189/09190 (Mumbai Central – Katihar – Mumbai Central).
Train No. 09623 will operate every Tuesday with four additional trips from May 6, while Train No. 09624 will run every Thursday with four more trips from May 8. Train No. 01405 will run every Sunday with four extra trips from May 4, and Train No. 01406 will operate every Tuesday with four more trips from May 6. Similarly, Train No. 09189 will run every Saturday with five additional services from May 3, and Train No. 09190 will run every Tuesday with five extra trips starting May 6.
These trains will maintain their existing routes, schedules, coach compositions, stoppages, and days of service.
In addition, the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway (DHR) has extended the operation of five special Diesel Joyride trains to cater to tourist demand during the summer peak. Train No. 02546 (Darjeeling–Ghum–Darjeeling) will continue to run until July 15, with the extended service beginning from May 1. Train Nos. 02547, 02548, 02549, and 02550 (Darjeeling–Ghum–Darjeeling) will also run extended services during the same period.
NFR has also revised the departure and arrival timings of certain trains, effective from May 11.
Train No. 15417 (Alipurduar Jn – Silghat Town) Rajya Rani Express will now depart Alipurduar Jn at 18:45 hrs to reach Silghat Town at 08:55 hrs the following day. The return service, Train No. 15418, will depart from Silghat Town at 18:00 hrs and reach Alipurduar Jn at 07:35 hrs the next day, effective from May 12.
Train No. 55465 (Alipurduar Jn – Bamanhat) Passenger will depart Alipurduar Jn at 06:10 hrs and arrive at Bamanhat at 08:35 hrs on the same day.
