Maligaon, April 24 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has launched a special cleanliness and inspection drive in what it termed a “major push to enhance passenger amenities and cleanliness.”
The drive focuses on improving sanitation both at stations and onboard trains, while addressing complaints registered through the Rail Madad platform, stated an official release.
Special emphasis is being laid on effective complaint resolution and real-time onboard monitoring by assigned officers conducting inspections between stations across the NFR zone, it added.
According to the NFR CPRO’s release, a key highlight of this initiative is the establishment of Clean Train Station (CTS) facilities at Badarpur and Lumding stations, ensuring thorough mechanised cleaning of coaches during halts by dedicated teams.

The cleaning includes high-pressure jet cleaning of toilets, floor and vestibule washing, garbage collection, dry sweeping, mirror and washbasin cleaning, aisle mopping with disinfectants, and toilet disinfection, it said.
Further, onboard inspections are being conducted across UP and DN trains, with any identified shortfalls promptly addressed by housekeeping staff, it claimed.
It further noted that all trains across the zone were comprehensively covered under the special drive, with visible improvements in cleanliness standards.
The NFR remains committed to delivering a safe, hygienic, and comfortable journey for its passengers. Passengers are also being encouraged to join the initiative by maintaining cleanliness and supporting staff efforts, the release added.
