NFR to run two more special trains from today

Maligaon, October 4 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will be operating two more special trains starting October 5, an official release informed.  

The Howrah-Guwahati–Howrah will start operating from October 5 while another weekly special train will start running between Silchar – Trivandrum – Silchar from October 8, it said. 

The introduction of these special trains will enable passengers from a vast part of Assam and Northeast to avail the facility of train travel to various parts of the country, maintained the release issued by NFR Chief Public Relations Officer, Subhanan Chanda.

As per the release, the 02345 Howrah-Guwahati special will leave from Howrah at 3:15 PM (15:50 hrs) daily to reach Guwahati at 10:05 AM, the next day. 

On return journey, 02346 Guwahati–Howrah special will leave from Guwahati at 12:20 PM daily from October 6 and to arrive at Howrah next day at 5:25 AM.

The trains will cover Kamakhya, New Bongaigaon, New Alipurduar, New Coochbehar, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Malda Town, Rampurhat, Bolpur, Barddhaman during their journey. 

The train will have 1st AC, 2nd AC, 3rd AC, Sleeper class and general 2nd class accommodations and all coaches have to be reserved, the release said. 

The 02508 Silchar–Trivandrum special will leave from Silchar every Thursday at 8:05 PM with effect from October 8 and reach Trivandrum 3 days after at 10:40 PM.

The train has stoppages at Badarpur Jn, New Haflong, Maibang, Lumding, Hojai, Guwahati, Kamakhya, Rangiya, Barpeta Road, New Bongaigaon, Kokrajhar, New Alipurduar, New Coochbehar, Dhupguri, New Jalpaiguri, Kishanganj, Malda Town, Howrah, Kharagpur, Bhubaneswar, Vijayawada, Kathpadi, and Ernaculam.

During the return journey 02507 Trivandrum – Silchar special will leave from Trivandrum every Tuesday at 4:55 PM from October 13 and reach Silchar at 7 PM on Friday. 

This train too will have 2nd AC, 3rd AC, Sleeper class and general 2nd class accommodations and there are no unreserved coaches.

Meanwhile, the release said that the NFR has decided to resume the services of 3 pairs of diesel–electric multiple unit (DEMU), services in Tripura following receipt of letter in this regard from the state government.

 Accordingly, 07676 DEMU will leave Dharmanagar at 6AM to arrive Agartala at 10 AM. 07675 DEMU will leave from Agartala at 5:45 PM arrive Dharmanagar at 9:45 PM. 

The 07688 DEMU will leave Agartala at 4:30 PM to arrive Sabroom at 7 PM. 07687 DEMU will start from Sabroom at 7:15 PM to arrive Agartala at 9:50 PM. 07682 DEMU will start from Agartala at 05:15 AM to arrive Sabroom at 7:45 AM. 07689 DEMU will start from Sabroom at 8 AM to reach Agartala at 10:25 AM.
