NFR to operate summer special train between Howrah and New Jalpaiguri

Charlapalli–Naharlagun services extended

Maligaon, May 8 (MExN): In anticipation of increased passenger traffic during the upcoming summer season, the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) will operate a special train between Howrah and New Jalpaiguri for a single trip on May 10.

According to a press release from the NFR, train no. 03039 (Howrah–New Jalpaiguri) will depart from Howrah at 12:10 AM on May 10 (Saturday) and reach New Jalpaiguri at 10:45 AM, the same day. 

In the return direction, train no. 03040 (New Jalpaiguri–Howrah) will depart at 12:45 PM on May 10 and arrive at Howrah at 12:10 AM the next day. 

The train will run via Aluabari Road, Barsoi, Jangipur Road, Azimganj Junction, and Bandel, among other stations, and will have a total of 20 coaches.

Meanwhile, the periodicity of train no. 07046/07047 (Charlapalli–Naharlagun–Charlapalli) summer special has been extended for four additional trips in both directions. Train no. 07046 will now run from May 10 to May 31, while train no. 07047 will operate from May 13 to June 3. These trains will run with their existing timings, composition, and stoppages.

The NFR informed that these special services are intended to reduce congestion and enhance connectivity across key states during the summer rush.

Passengers are advised to check detailed timings, routes, and stoppages on the IRCTC website or NFR’s official social media handles before undertaking their journey, it added.
