NFR to run 8 special trains from Sept 12

Booking starts September10

Maligaon, September 6 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR), in addition to currents services, will start operation of 8 special trains from September 12.

This is in tune with the Ministry of Railways decision to operate 40 pairs of additional special trains on specific routes from September 12, NFR informed in a press release from its Chief Public Relations Officer, Subhanan Chanda.

“These trains will be fully reserved trains and will be in addition to the special trains that are already under operation,” it said.

The composition and route of these trains would be same as per existing regular trains with AC & Non AC classes and General Coach with reserved seat, it added.

There will be no unreserved coaches and stoppages would be restricted in view of the suggestions of various State Governments, NFR informed.  At present 230 special passengers carrying trains are running throughout Indian Railways.

Meanwhile, the NFR said that booking of tickets will commence from September 10 and only asymptomatic passengers with confirmed tickets will be allowed to enter the Railway station/board the train.

Passengers are also encouraged to carry their own food and drinking water while wearing of face covers at the entry and during travel is a must.

They must also download Aarogya Setu App, and strictly observe social distancing both at the station and on trains.

On arrival at their destination, the traveling passengers will have to adhere to all such health protocols as are prescribed by the destination state or Union Territory, NFR added.
