NFR unloads 1282 rakes in December 

Guwahati,Janaury 24 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has unloaded 1282 freight carrying trains in December, 2021, an official release said. From April to December 2021, it further unloaded 9941 rakes of freight trains as against 8201 rakes in corresponding period last year showing an increase of 21.21%, it said. 

The NFR transported goods like FCI rice, sugar, salt, edible oil, POL, food grains, fertilizer, cement, stone chips, iron/steel, onion, maize, auto, container and other items during the month and unloaded them in different goods sheds in its jurisdiction, it added.  The release from NFR Chief Public Relations Officer further informed that essential and other commodities are being transported regularly to not only meeting the requirement of common people but also keeping the local economic activity going. 

 “Improved terminal handling facility and improvement in mobility due to enhanced maintenance efforts & continuous monitoring at all level resulted in reduction in turnaround time and increased unloading,” it added.
