NFR’s train punctuality increases to 100%

Guwahati, September 9 (MExN) The North East Frontier Railway (NFR) today maintained that it has been able to achieve almost 100 percent punctuality on September 8.

Ministry of Railways has reviewed punctuality of trains running over all the zones of Indian Railways and NFR has achieved 100% punctuality on Sunday, informed a press release from  Subhanan Chanda, NFR’s Chief Public Relations Officer.

The train punctuality parameter of NFR on September 8 was the highest amongst all the 17 zones in Indian Railways, it said.

NFR also fared best in train punctuality for the period from September 1-8 by running 95.9% trains on time, it added.

The CPRO’s release attributed the achievement to “a result of sustained effort of all of its divisions” and said that the NFR officials are “trying to monitor the punctuality aspect of all the trains to provide passengers the best possible train services.”

Many long distance trains originated from Agartala, Silchar, Dibrugarh, Naharlagun Railway stations bound to the various parts of India and NFR has closely monitored running punctuality of all the trains in Division as well as in Headquarter level, it said.

Moreover, all the divisions keep close vigil on trains coming delayed from other zones and all efforts are made to ensure that the trains arriving late do not loose punctuality further in NFR, it added.
