‘NGOs play proactive role in the world’

Longpong (Longjang), November 12 (MExN): The Tzur Multi-purpose Project Society (TMPPS) today held its picnic cum get-together at the Longpong River Bridge area with Parliamentary Secretary for Geology and Mining, Dr Imtiwapang Aier as the special guest.  

The TMPPS picnic was joined by the village council members of neighboring villages from Sungratsü (native village of Dr Imtiwapang Aier) and Longpa village.  

The Parliamentary Secretary, while speaking in a short formal programme, underscored the importance of NGOs and civil societies in the world. While congratulating the TMPPS, Dr Aier asserted that it was the NGOs, such as the TMPPS and others, that have played a proactive role in the world since from the time of the World War II and even to this day.  

He therefore, called upon the TMPPS members to play an active role in the society, keeping their motto ‘new vision’ in their mind, for the upliftment of the village and society.  

He also expressed happiness at the presence of the village council members of Longjang, Sungratsü and Longpa at the gathering and expressed hope that gathering of the villages will be the foundation for strengthening love, unity and fraternity among the different villages in the Asetkong range.  

Meanwhile, short speeches were delivered by the village council chairman of the three villages.  

A press release on the event stated that the Tsur Multi-purpose Project Society (TMPPS) Longjang was established in the year 2005 under the patronage of the Longjang Village Council. A small dam has been constructed over the Tzur River and the resultant lake formed after the dam construction has been transformed into a fishery pond. The TMPPS members disclosed that the society has plans to construct a resort for tourists - both local and foreign - who visit the village.
