Chumukedima, November 5 (MExN): Lamkang Brothers and Lamkang Snulop emerged as winners in Men’s and Women’s Volleyball respectively in the 5th Niathu Sports Festival 2016 which concluded today.   Lamkang Brothers defeated Global Open University in the final to claim the men’s championship while Lamkang Snulop overcame Unity Friends Club to win the women’s championship.   High Five Assam Rifles and Sumi Vision Club were jointly placed third in the men’s category while NECS Mizoram and Lampangkong SC claimed the third place in the women’s category.   In Billiards, Hika Ayemi (Surumi) defeated Aba Peki to emerge as the champion. Mathew Pienyu and Martin Shikhu were the two losing semifinalists. Martin Shikhu claimed the award for the highest break point with 36 points. In men’s Tennis, Vilasier Khate beat Metba Phom to claim the championship. Zhaputso Khate and Vitsizolie Nagi were the two losing semifinalists.   In Cycling, W.R. Joseph finished ahead of other contestants to emerge as winner. He was followed by Kezevito Viswentso and Yamet Leinak in second and third respectively. Atoba A Longkumer came fourth while Vilhouseto Kuotso finished fifth.   In Badminton, Erenbeni Lotha defeated Nsungbeni to become the girls’ singles champion. T. Holy Konyak and Yoam Konyak were jointly placed third.   Limashan Jami defeated Kilangkumba to emerge as champion in Badminton boys’ singles. Bentilo Kath and Zuchopemo claimed joint third.   In Boys’ doubles, Limashan Jami and Lothu beat Zhakuo Seyie and Bentilo to become the champions. Imti Yaden & Hitto and Lungliayichung & Masangheing claimed joint third.
