Dimapur, November 14 (MExN): The Naga International Support Centre (NISC) today strongly condemned the assault of seven Wanching Village leaders by NSCN (K) cadres on November 7, and said that the NSCN (K) faction makes a mockery of the right to self determination.
A press statement issued by The Netherlands based NISC, deplored the ‘terrorizing’ of its own people by the NSCN (K) cadres said, “the Naga International Support Center cannot but conclude that the Khaplang Group is not much more than a bunch of criminals.”
Particularly replying to Senior Kilonser, Mulatonu, who last week, opined that the NISC and the UNPO should first come and meet the NSCN (K) to initiate peace and reconciliation among the Nagas, the NISC declared that it ‘does not honor the wishes of criminals and human rights abusers to negotiate reconciliation towards peace and respect for each other which you (NSCN-K) so blatantly have broken time and again’.
The NISC, therefore, opined that unless the NSCN (K) comes to its senses and commence to work for the rights of all Nagas and has sovereignty on the basis of the Right to Self Determination in its policies for the Naga Peoples’, the NISC cannot trust the NSCN (K) to sincerely come forward to achieve to achieve peace and reconciliation for all concerned. ‘The Khaplang Group makes a mockery of the right to self determination and cannot be a credible partner until it mends its ways” the NISC stated.
