NITex: BAN promises more entertainment

Dimapur, November 26 (MExN): Business Association of Nagas (BAN), which is organising the Nagaland International Trade Expo (NITex) underway at Agri Expo complex here, today informed that with four more days to go till the expo concludes, more entertaining activities have been lined up apart from business showcasing.  

From November 28 to 29, the much-awaited business summit will be held. It will be inaugurated by Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) Neiphiu Rio.  

The business summit, according to a press release from BAN, will address various contentious issues and explore opportunities in Nagaland Special Development Zone (NSDZ), prospect of trade with neighbouring countries, building community farming and market linkages, and building competent human resources.  

The summit will have resourceful eminent personalities in the field of business, trade, commerce along with the delegate level participation of Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), Federation of Industry and Commerce of North Eastern Region (FINER), North East Federation on International Trade (NEFIT), and Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), it informed.  

BAN has encouraged all the entrepreneurs, business community, NGOs and stakeholders to participate in the business summit and share their thought and exchange their ideas.  

Meanwhile, it informed that from November 28-30, the expo will buzz with the open-air concert to be kick-started by Minister of Road and Bridges, Dr. Nicky Kire. The concert, which will start at 5:00 pm every evening, will showcase and promote various local talented artists and also feature performances by renowned artists like Alobo Naga, Tali Angh, Fiona, and Mawitei from Mizoram.  

Apart from the business opportunity, the expo also has been organized keeping in mind the visitors of all age group and families with food court offering multi-cuisine and kids play zone, the release stated. The expo is open from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm for the public and businesses.  

BAN mentioned that NITex, which was inaugurated by Chief Minister TR Zeliang on November 24, is a two-way platform effort to bring technology, equipment, machines, market, and services at the doorstep of entrepreneurs and manufactures of Nagaland, and at the same time promote the local products and potential to the outside market.  

The expo has a participation of hundreds of local entrepreneurs showcasing local produce and services, while from the rest of the country and North East region, there are participants from the construction sector, real estate, automobile, textile, handicraft, gems & jewellery sector, and agri-equipment manufacturers and government departments.  

The expo is supported by multiple agencies, the Government of Nagaland, Union Ministry of Textile, Ministry of MSME, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, North East Council, and Federation of Industry and Commerce of North Eastern Region.
