Kohima, September 6 (MExN): The Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) has demanded impartial investigation into the custodial death of late E Henveih Phom.
In a letter addressed to Governor of Nagaland, NMA expressed “deeply shocked at the custodial death of late E Henveih Phom in Sibsagar Jail at the hands of the Assam Police with inhuman physical violence and torture.”
The letter appended by NMA President, Abei-ü Meru and Joint Secretary, Malwawmthangi Leyri further condemned the questionable action of the Assam Police.
The association also urged for an impartial investigation be made into “this unfortunate death and the perpetrators be identified and strongest punitive active be taken against the police personnel as per the law.”
