NMA hails NSCN (IM), NNPGs joint declaration

DIMAPUR, JANUARY 20 (MExN): The Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) has expressed support to the recent joint declaration of the NSCN (IM) and NNPG leadership and hoped that this will “build better understanding amongst our own and take the Naga peace process to an honourable solution respecting Naga rights and history.” 

“We appreciate the efforts of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation (FNR) and the peace initiatives taking place,” a press release from the NMA further stated.

It meanwhile appealed to the leaders of the NSCN-K (Khango) to “bury their differences and work together for the good of the Nagas.” “This is a crucial time for Nagas and as mothers who have reached out for peace with these top leaders, both in the jungles of Myanmar, including at Taga CHQ and welcomed their peace overtures at Yangkhao village,” it stated. 

The NMA urged “our brothers of the group, to rise above personal differences and reconcile with each other at the earliest. Peace and forgiveness is needed most at this moment in our history.”
