Dimapur, May 15 (MExN): The Nagaland Medicine Dealers Association (NMDA) has endorsed the statement of Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DCCI) to close down business activities in Dimapur if illegal extortion remains uncontrolled.
A resolution to this effect was passed at the annual general meeting of NMDA on May 13 at Hotel Saramati, Dimapur.
NMDA assured DCCI of its full support in the interest of the entire business community, stated a press release from NMDA general secretary, Basu Damani.
In the meeting, Damani, while welcoming Ato Yepthomi for getting re-elected as president, lauded his service in smoothly running the affairs of the association. The NMDA also congratulated the General Secretary (administration), Ashok Kr Singhal for getting re-elected as vice-president of All India Organization of Chemist and Druggist (AIOCD) NE zone for sixth consecutive term.
The release mentioned that NMDA is affiliated to AIOCD, which is the largest trade union in the world consisting of nearly one million members.
