Mokokchung, June 24 (MExN): Marking the 50th sensitization camp on HIV/AIDS, Network of Mokokchung District People living with HIV/AIDS (NMP+) launched the phase-III sensitization drive at Mongchen Village on June 23, 2013. The third phase is initiated under the management of Harvindra Pal Singh, C.B.H, Bharti Infratel Ltd and Nitin Sharma, HR & Admin Head, Bharti Infratel Ltd. NMP+ has been gravely undertaking sensitization programmes on HIV/AIDS in collaboration with Bharti Infratel Ltd since November 28, 2010. The mission of this sensitization programme is to share information on HIV/AIDS and related issues, stated NMP+ programme coordinator Pater Aley.
On the occasion, Ramkrishna, O&M Band-F, Bharti Infratel Ltd highlighted the mission of the Bharti group. He said “Service to the people” is the main priority of the group and also encouraged the participants to take this day as God given opportunity. Later, T. Temsu Jamir, President NMP+ and Toshi Sangpi, NMP+ shared on facts about ‘HIV/AIDS: Chronic care and Impact of Stigma and Discrimination’ respectively. Pastor, Mokokchung Baptist Arogo addressed the welcome note. In his message he thanked the NMP+ and Bharti group for the concern towards the villager and stated, “Let this camp be a source of knowledge and weapon to disseminate the message of awareness.”
The facilitator of the programme was Archila, coordinator while Asso. Pastor (women) Anung, graced the invocation prayer. The programme reflected an active participation of villagers during discussion hour and commitment to actively participate and to support in this fight against HIV pandemic. The camp concluded with a mass prayer.
