NMSA conducts health awareness prog

Health awareness programme at Zhadima village on October 10.

Kohima, October 11 (MExN): Coinciding with its 23rd general conference, the Nagaland Medical Students Association (NMSA) has conducted a health awareness programme on October 10 in collaboration with Family Planning Association of India (FPAI) at Zhadima village under Kohima district.

The programme witnessed a health talk on family planning by Vincent Belho, dental hygiene by Dr. Myingthungo Ngullie and hypertension by Dr. Visede Liegise.

Altogether, 181 people came for health check up in which there were 104 adults who were screened for hypertension, diabetes and dental procedures like extractions were done.Free medication has been given for other related health problems. A total of 77 children were also administered medicine for deworming, according to NMSA. Staff members from FPAI counseled on the importance of family planning.

Later, Zhadima Village council chairman Kesovilhou Chupuo proposed vote of thanks.
