DIMAPUR, November 3 (NNN): The Naga National Council (NNC), Zeliangrong Region, has stated in a press release that it was not involved in the recent Tamenglong clashes. NNC went on to accuse the NSCN-IM of trying to malign NNC’s image which it defined as being against the people and nation. The press release from the Regional Council President of Zeliangrong region, Z. Shaphulak, stated that NNC was never party to the ongoing armed conflict between the different Naga armed groups in Tamenglong district and shall never be party to killings as it is against Naga national principle of non-violence. “It will be too low or unreasonable for us as a parent organisation of the Naga people to involve in fratricidal killing among us that is detrimental to our right cause and against our genuine Naga stand. The NNC condemns the gun battle,” the NNC, Zeliangrong Region stated.
