
Kohima, December 22 (MExN): The Naga National Council (Parent Body) has extended Christmas and New Year greetings to all people in the Naga homeland and abroad. In a message issued by Yilow Humtsoe, President; Helimong Yimkhiung, Vice President-designate; and V. Nagi, General Secretary, the organization conveyed wishes for a joyous Christmas celebration on December 25 in the name of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.
The NNC also prayed for abundant blessings, peace, and protection as Nagas step into 2025, expressing hope for unity across all Naga-inhabited regions. Reiterating its commitment to the political freedom and recognition of the Naga people, the Council emphasized its desire for peace, tranquility, and freedom to become a reality.
The statement further urged all Naga national workers to seek forgiveness for what it termed as "national sins," including killings, forceful taxation, defections, hatred, jealousy, and collaboration with adversaries. The NNC highlighted the pressing need for national unity, calling it the political essence for the freedom Nagas have long aspired to achieve.
Appealing for solidarity, the Parent Body called on all concerned to come forward for Naga National Unity, describing it as the foundation of their resolute stand.
The message concluded with a prayer for blessings upon Nagaland and the enduring vision of a unified Naga people.
