By the grace of God, our indomitable people have despite terrible hurdles come through and our nation is determined to fulfil the Naga Nation Council (NNC) original stand, that is, Our Country is Ours’ (Urra Uvie). As our people in Nagaland eagerly look forward to the Christmas universal message of peace and shortly followed by the New Year (2013), our thoughts are with the many families whose dear and loved ones selflessly made supreme sacrifice for freedom of our nation and hand down to coming generations.
Still no end in sight, in over sixty years of conflict with India the elusive peace could merely be seen a thriving industry serving vested interests in Nagaland that clearly is incompatible with modern time. Besides, the prevailing anarchic distraction orchestrated by Delhi cannot hide the Government of India (GoI) blatant hypocrisy in respect of gross interference in the internal affairs of Nagaland.
Incredibly, much ahead of the birth of Naga nation, a respected traditional futurologist from Phesama village prophesied a difficult struggle and upheaval within our midst that our new nation will eventually overcome. Later on, on numerous occasions chosen Christian Prayer Groups were commanded by God to deliver divine messages to our people and act upon in precise manner so that no power on earth can deny Nagaland of its’ freedom.
Since the Indian army unprovoked invasion in November 1954 to deny the existence of Nagaland, to date our enduring nation has against all the odds defied the enemy’s evil designs. Lately, the hype on GoI decision to discard diplomatic approach and resort to arbitrary sham “peace process” purported to reach a “solution” at the “earliest possible time” with non-state outfits under enemy protection, including” Z-plus security (zenith security) and in particular, unconnected with the international conflict between the two nations is nothing short of an insult to the intelligence of the people of Nagaland. It goes without saying peace cannot be imposed and whatever the challenge ahead nothing can derail the NNC and the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) stand on Nagaland.
While our nation stoically endures these difficult times, I appeal to our people to respect our age-old traditional harmony and uphold the Yehzabo (Constitution) of Nagaland. Let us be very clear on freedom of Naga nation, time limit has no place.
I wish our people a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year.
May God bless Nagaland. Urra Uvie
