The Naga National Council (NNC) the Parent Body of the Nagas under the Leadership of Mr. Z. Royim Yimchungrii and Mr. V. Nagi the acting President and the General Secretary respectively greets all the Foreign Delegates (visitors) from different countries of the world who are in Naga Country observing and participating Hornbill Festival at this season in the name of our living God Jesus Christ the Prince of Peace.
The NNC wish and pray that their stay in Naga Country be a pleasant,a joyful and a blessing one. At the same time the NNC appeal all the people especially the foreign delegates (visitors) to remember that the Naga people have been struggling for the last more than 60 long years for official recognition of their political rights of 14th August 1947 Declaration of Naga Independence Day, 16th May 1951 of Naga National Plebiscite Day and the rejection of Indian General Elections of 1952 and 1957. Because of these political rights of the Nagas, the Naga people are fighting for official recognition as a Sovereign Nation.
The NNC taking this opportunity to say that whoever comes to Nagaland will clearly see that the Nagas are politically, socially, culturally, religiously and geographically different from India and Burma. The Naga people have been living under military occupation of India and Burma that is both side of Eastern and Western Nagaland for the last 6 decades.
Therefore the NNC appeal one and all especially the foreign visitors to remember that the Naga People are a distinct and a unique people and Nation in this part of the world. May everyone help settle the Naga political problem of occupation internationally once for all for peace and development in the South- East Asia.
The NNC also taking this privilege to wish one and all a very Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year of 2013. May the Prince of Peace bless each and everyone richly in this Christmas Season.
