NNC/FGN (Zhopra) extends Easter greetings

Dimapur, April 19 (MExN): The Kedahge of the Naga National Council/Federal Government of Nagaland (NNC/FGN) led by Zhopra Vero, has extended Easter greetings to the people, calling for unity, compassion, and reconciliation as the core message of the season.

In his message, Vero reflected on the significance of Easter, stating that the resurrection of Jesus Christ stands as a symbol of hope, renewal, and the enduring power of love over death. “Easter reminds us that, no matter how long the night, the light of hope always rises with the dawn,” he stated.

Recognising the rich diversity of the Naga nation, Vero emphasised that while differences in opinion may exist, they offer opportunities to listen, learn, and grow. “What unites us far surpasses what divides us—our shared aspiration for peace, dignity, and a hopeful future,” he noted.

He further urged people to choose compassion over discord and cooperation over arrogance, stating that these values form the foundation of lasting peace and strong nations. The message called for a path of forgiveness and reconciliation, where “justice and mercy walk hand in hand, and truth is spoken in love.”

Highlighting the importance of dialogue and mutual understanding, Vero described diversity not as a weakness, but as a testament to shared humanity. “Let us choose the way of Christ: build bridges, not walls; extend hands, not fists,” he said.

The Kedahge expressed hope that the Easter season would bring healing, fortitude, and renewed unity across the land.
