The NNC must make it very clear once again that India is never an integral part of Nagaland, nor Nagaland is an integral part of India. The clear political history of Nagaland with 100% democratic right stood and struggled and time tested for the last more than 60 long years for recognition of the Naga people by India and Burma (Myanmar) in particular and the community of nation as they know very well about the longest political struggle of the Nagas for freedom in the south-east Asian region.
The Nagas have every right to tell the outside world about the plight of the Nagas, as we have been oppressed and suppressed politically for so long that the NNC appeal the community of nations and the United Nations in particular to speak out officially and recognize the political rights of the Naga people for sovereignty as the world knows very well about Nagaland and its peoples’ right for freedom .
Therefore, this imposition o f Indian election in Nagaland by the Government of India is in complete violation of the Naga peoples’ rights and the International Human Rights. In this connection, NNC is compelled to sincerely appeal to the international community of nations and the United Nations in particular to intervene in this serious political problem in Nagaland for lasting peace in the region.
The NNC also appeal all those Nagas who are spending crores of money for such imposition of election in Nagaland for their selfish and party benefits at the cost of Naga national rights to come forward for the real political freedom of the Nagas in this manner to change the political scenario in Nagaland for the benefit of all the Naga people as a whole.
We the undersigned are some of the senior most NNC members in the Naga homeland issues this political statement of appeal on behalf of the Naga people.
