DIMAPUR, MAY 9 (MExN): The Naga National Party has in a press release appealed to all factions/groups to stop killing each other while stating that fratricidal killing of Nagas by fellow Nagas in Naga society is a national shame and an assault on a civilization. As Christians, the policy of elimination and dominancy to those who disagree with one or one time adversaries is suicidal and counter productive stated the release and added that it is a universal truth that killing between brothers and sisters of the same family is nothing but worse than any other killing and murder. “One may think that, rightful killing and murdering is right but its act is worse than terrorist” stated Ng.Hungyo, President NNP and S. Muinao, General Secretary NNP while pointing out that killing and murdering today is nothing but revengeful killing, which is in contrary to the Christian doctrine that revenge is for God but not for human being. The release further stated that killing one’s own brother is totally wrong whatever might be the reason.
Stating that the news of killing and murder among the Naga National Workers specially fratricidal killing between the NSCN (K), NSCN (IM) and NNC/FGN has surprised every Naga, the NNP stated it is very hard to hear and swallow the news. While stating that the people are fed up of the inhuman acts of senseless killing which have been happening every now and then, the NNP felt that such murderous design and mad killing of each others has damaged the good image of the Nagas in the eye of the world and has lowered the prestige among various societies.
The NNP stated that they have no hesitation to make bridges or mediate and bring them together on understanding if the factions announce voluntarily that they are not killing each other while urging the factions to voluntarily announce it immediately. “Unity is a process and that unity must not be pre-condition for the peace process and for the possible political settlement because settlement is with the Nagas and not with others” the release stated.
The NNP has appealed to all concern to avoid from such condemnable acts while stating that “Nagas have not authorized them to kill each other rather Nagas have entrusted them to bring a peaceful and permanent solution/settlement” and that there is no future without forgiveness.
In the meantime, the NNP has also appealed to both the NSCN (IM) and GOI to be serious on the ongoing peace talks so that the expectations and their commitment to the people for peaceful solution is achieved without delay.
