No breakthrough in Ghorapatti dacoity- murder case

Dimapur, Nov 16 (MExN): The police have informed that there was no breakthrough into the Ghorapatti dacoity- murder case so far. It may be mentioned that on November 15, early morning around 12: 45 am, one shopkeeper, identified as Rafiq Ahmed was shot dead at point-blank range by dacoits at Ghorapatti, Golaghat road with a 12 bore gun.

The SDPO (Niuland) today informed that the incident was a case of dacoity and murder. The 49 suspects rounded up for interrogation has not resulted in any important leads for the police. Talking to The Morung Express, the SDPO informed that three eye witnesses were summoned to identify the 49 suspects in the police custody. Police suspect that the alleged dacoits could be non-locals since the incident occurred near the border area. The SDPO informed that the issue of border jurisdiction could arise if the criminals had escaped, which could hamper the police case.
