Phek, May 14 (MExN): The District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) of Phek has directed the contractor executing the Kohima-Jessami 29-NH two-lane road project to complete the remaining works under Package-II and Package-V within the current year, warning that any further delay will “not be viewed leniently.”
The directive came during DPDB Phek’s monthly meeting held at the Deputy Commissioner’s conference hall on Thursday, chaired by Chairman Kudecho Khamo, who is also Advisor for Civil Administration Works Division & Taxes. MLA Kuzholuzo Azo Nienu attended the meeting, and both legislators expressed concern over the delay in completing the two stretches, stated a DIPR report.
Officials of the road construction company, M/S Kaushal Sharma in joint venture with M/S Prachi Infra & Roads Pvt Ltd were present along with representatives from the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL). Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman DPDB Phek, Rhosietho (NCS), and Superintendent of Police Dr Kaur (IPS) also voiced the need for early completion.
The House cautioned the contractor and NHIDCL officials that future delays would be dealt with strictly. It also instructed the company to start the pending work immediately.
