No protest etc during festive season, APO’s EC reaffirms decision

Dimapur, November 18 (MExN): The Executive Council (EC) of the Angami Public Organization has reaffirmed the press statement issued by the Governing Body of the organisation on November 11 and 15 which restricted “any kind of protest, agitation or disruption under its jurisdiction during the festive season.”  

The decision unanimously was agreed upon during an emergency meeting of the EC on November 18, stated a press release from APO General Secretary, Keviselie Lhousa and Vice-President, Pfükhrielie Peseyie. WAPO, NAPO, SAPO, CPO, AMK, AGOK, ASA, AYO, ASU, and the Governing Body of APO and the Executive members are part of the Council.  

“The meeting resolved to affirm once and for all that the press statement issued by the Governing Body of the APO on the 11th and 15th November stands valid without any unreasonable doubt or question as these statements containing its declarations were based on APO standing resolution of 3rd February, 1996,” it said.  

Responding to “all opinion and suggestion” by various individuals or concerned citizens, APO said that it “remain open to all valued advices” but urged for such “sensible love and concerned advices be confined within the parameter of our hearths.”  

“Any decision/decisions taken by the Executive Council shall remain final and binding in any matters relating to the Angami Public Organization,” it added.
