KOHIMA (MExN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) today stated that it had not received any official communiqué so far on its deadline served to the Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio to produce the White Paper on utilization of Rs. 365 Crore peace bonus granted by the Government of India.

The NPCC Political Affairs Committee had recently asked Rio to produce the White Paper by August 15.

“Till date, the NPCC has not received any communication”, NPCC President Hokheto Sumi told The Morung Express this afternoon. Hokheto said that the NPCC would examine the matter and decide on the next course of action to be taken up by the party.

Earlier, the NPCC had stated that since the then Finance Minister Kewekhape Therie had not been able to produce the document it was now up to the Chief Minister to come out with the White Paper as he now held the finance portfolio.

Meanwhile, commenting on the new State logo that was officially put into use from August 15, Hokheto, neither expressing his like nor dislike said that if proper procedure had been taken into account in adopting it, then objection would not have arisen.

He was of the view that the Congress party may not have objected to it if proper procedure was followed.

Also terming the mithun as a precious species for Nagas, Hokheto said featuring of the mithun on the logo “may be acceptable”.
