
Kohima, May 5 (MExN): No separate passes will be required for movement of government employees of Nagaland commuting to their offices from home and vice versa, as the Government of Nagaland opens its offices on a larger scale, marking a step towards normalcy even as the lockdown has been extended.
An office memorandum to this effect was issued by the Principal Secretary to the Government of Nagaland Abhijit Sinha on Tuesday.
It stated that vehicles being used by the government employees for his/her movement, including private vehicles, will also not require any passes/permits for movement.
The concerned government servant is advised to carry his/her official ID card and produce it whenever required, so as to not face any inconvenience, it stated.
The decision to resume offices was announced on Monday when the state government issued a new set of guideline for the next two weeks of lockdown.
According to the new guidelines, the Civil Secretariat and Directorates in Kohima and Dimapur will function with attendance of officers of Deputy Secretary/ Director and above. For government offices in the districts, attendance of the Head of Office and immediate junior will be mandatory.
For other categories of officers and staff, a roster system will be followed where 50% of staff attends office every alternate week. All the AHoDs, HoDs and Heads of Offices have been directed to immediately workout the arrangements and ensure the functioning of their offices in line with the revised guidelines.
