Nokia Lords of Music NE 2011 comes to a close

Abiogenesis from Nagaland performs at the Grand Finale of the ‘Nokia Lords of Music NE 2011’ at the Pologrounds, Shillong on February 20.
 
The Grand Finale of the ‘Nokia Lords of Music NE 2011’ a rock contest involving the participation of the best bands from various North East states vied for the winning title while also earning a cash prize of ` one lakh at the Pologrounds, Shillong on February 20.
A press release received here informed that Boomerang from Mizoram won the coveted title while Alice In Wonderland and Doubting Thomas, both from Nagaland were adjudged the 1st runners up and the 2nd runners up respectively by a panel of renown judges comprising of Guru Rewben Mashangva (Manipur), Lou Majaw (Meghalaya) and Moa Subong of Abiogenesis (Nagaland).
Abiogenesis from Nagaland was the headlining band mesmerised the crowd with their brand of Howey music for an hour after the contest. The entire show was telecast live by NE Hifi.
Earlier, the mobile phone brand conducted four rounds of auditions in Shillong, Kohima, Imphal and Aizawl before selecting two bands from each city. The auditions were judged by a panel of judges comprising of local renowned musicians of each respected venues with Moa Subong of Abiogenesis being the main regular judge for all the venues. Dosser's Urge and Street Stories from Shillong, Doubting Thomas and Alice In Wonderland from Kohima, Salt And Light Travelling Band and CHEM-WEED F.M, both from Manipur besides Scarlet Fever and Boomerang from Mizoram were selected from these audition rounds.
The objective behind the musical initiative was to promote and celebrate the Rock Music Culture of the NE states as well as provide a platform of recognition for the regions talented youth. The mega event was organised by the mobile phone brand, Nokia and the entire on ground activation of this mega event was managed by India’s leading Event Managers BIG LIVE, the Experiential Marketing division of Reliance Broadcast Network Ltd. This event was partnered by NE TV (TV Partner), NE HiFi (Communication Partner) and Radio Ooo La La (Radio Partner) and the entire series of the event was televised.
