Noklak celebrates the environment by planting saplings

NOKLAK, JUNE 5 (MExN): The World Environment Day was observed at Noklak Town under the theme ‘Conserve Biodiversity’ organised by the 45 Assam Rifle, Noklak, A Coy on June 5. 


Speaking on the occasion, Major AnujMahant stated that the region has a rich biodiversity and urged the people to continue to conserve the biodiversity and also advised all to plant trees. Taking the initiatives of the occasion, he gave his sincere appreciation to KhiamniunganMenyiuHoikam (KMH), Adora Children home and all the well-wishers for participating and making the World Environment Day 2020 occasion a remarkable and successful. 


With a few participants, a plantation drive was carried out maintaining while maintaining social distancing along with all the precautions due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 


Major AnujMahant also presented gifts to all the participants of Adora Children Home during the short programme held at Assam Rifle camp Noklak. 


Earlier, the participants marched in the main town to spread awareness on conservation of the environment. 
During the day, more than hundreds saplings of pines and order ornamental trees were planted in the main town and Assam Rifle camp area.
