Noklak, November 22 (MExN): The District Water and Sanitation Mission Noklak held its meeting under the chairmanship of P Mono Khiamniungan, Deputy Commissioner and Chairman DWSM Noklak at DC office on November 18.
The SDO of PHED, Noklak presented the status report of JIM and SBM implementation in the district. He highlighted that under JIM out of the 50 habitations undertaken by the PHED, 48 habitations have been completed and ongoing in two villages, stated a DIPR report.
He also informed about the DPR submitted for sustenance, regarding three habitations through DWSM where water sources have shown decline in discharge. He also mentioned that 8 habitations left out of community water supply, the DPR for these villages has been submitted through DWSM Noklak.
On SBM (G) out of 50 villages under the district, 32 villages have been declared either aspiring rising or Model villages. The department assured the house to expedite the documents for the remaining villages for which physical work is already completed.
He also highlighted on the work progress of the faecal sludge treatment plant Noklak
It was decided to ask the RD department to submit an official letter to the PHED intimating the completion of work, supported by completion certificate and Har Ghar Jal declaration video for timely updating in the IMIS portal and for certification of the three villages as Har Ghar Jal.
It also decided that the office of the DC Noklak will issue an order regarding protection and safeguarding of rural water supply infrastructure such as disruption of water source, structures and pipeline from external agencies.
The District Welfare Officer, Noklak and District Education Officer Noklak, will be included as members.
The DC requested the PHED for providing security fencing around the Noklak town water source in order to mitigate contamination of the water source.
