Noklak gets dist horticulture office

Noklak, July 22 (MExN):  Advisor, Horticulture and Border Affairs, Mhathung Yanthan inaugurated the District Horticulture Office (DHO) Noklak on July 22.

The Advisor expressed with hope that the opening of DHO in Noklak would enable the people of the district will enjoy the fruits and benefits through the department, a DIPR report said.  He further noted that farmers will have an opportunity to learn modern ways of farming and encouraged them to come forward to get the benefits from the department, it said. 

Encouraging the government employees, Yanthan asked them to work sincerely in all their responsibilities and capacities, wherever they are posted, in order to leave a good footprint behind and also sought for the support and cooperation of the public, it added. 

Stating that the ‘new dawn of progress and development’ is being witnessed in the district, he also congratulated the people of Noklak for having a separate district, the report said. 

Advisor, Fisheries & Aquatic Resources, Evaluation, Economic & Statistics, L Khumo Khiamniungan said that with the establishment of the Office, traditional ways of farming will be improved and will lead into modern ways of farming in the region. 

Khumo appreciated the State government under the leadership of Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio and Advisor, Yanthan for establishing the DHO. He also lauded the Commissioner  & Secretary, Horticulture, Director Horticulture, DHO and others who had involved and took the initiative for establishing the Office in Noklak, it added. 

Speeches were also delivered by Commissioner & Secretary Horticulture Anenla T Sato, IAS; Deputy Commissioner Noklak Reny Wilfred, IAS; SP Noklak, Pritpal Kaur IPS;  President, Khiamniungan Tribal Council, M.Thangou and PS to Prison, Printing & Stationery, Chumukam during the occasion.  

DHO, Noklak, Tiakaba Longchar chaired the programme and delivered the welcome address.

 Keynote address was delivered by Director of Horticulture & Mission Director (MIDH) Dr R Elithung Lotha while vote of thanks was given by  Horticulture Extension Assistant Avungthung Ngullie. Dedicatory prayer was delivered by Youth Longdon Baptist Church, Noklak Town, Pastor Luzu. The programme was attended by Additional Secretary, Tribal Affairs and Cabinet Cell Nchumbemo Shitri, Departmental officials and leaders of different organisations.
