Noklak, January 20 (MExN): Coinciding with the inauguration of Noklak District, COVID-19 vaccination was launched at CHC Noklak by Dr I Moatemjen Jamir, CMO Tuensang on January 20.

In his short speech, the CMO Tuensang encouraged the staff to receive the vaccine without fear. “We all have been praying for the cure and solution for the COVID-19 pandemic. This vaccine is an answer to our prayers as God has given the knowledge and wisdom to the scientists to discover the vaccine within a short period of time,” he stated. Like all other vaccines, Jamir said COVID-19 vaccines (COVISHIELD) may have mild reactions following immunisation but so far, “no one has experienced severe reactions in the district.”

He also appealed to the church to create awareness regarding the vaccine among the congregation to clear doubts and false rumours about the vaccine on social media.

An update received here stated that a total number of 37 medical staff of CHC Noklak received the first dose of vaccine wherein Thongpang, a medical attendant was the first person to receive the vaccine. The programme was chaired by Dr Victor SMO, CHC Noklak while A Penglang, Pastor, LBCNT invoked God's blessings.
