Noklak: Pang Students’ Union attains 50 years

Noklak, December 21 (MExN): The Pang Students’ Union (PSU) golden jubilee celebration was held with the theme ‘Vision Infinitum’ at Pang public ground hall, Noklak on December 19.

Addressing the occasion as special guest, MLA Benei M Lamthiu extended his deepest appreciation to all union members for their commendable services and contributions over the 50 years of existence. Lamthiu expressed gratitude to God and acknowledged the pioneers' courage and optimism, emphasizing their role in nurturing the union since its inception in 1973, a DIPR report stated. 

Encouraging the students, Lamthiu emphasised the importance of hard work in education, highlighting the pivotal role students play in shaping societal dynamics. He urged everyone to rededicate themselves to collective knowledge and wisdom, fostering peaceful co-existence.

Short speeches were delivered by representatives of PSU, Peshu Students’ Union, and Khiamniungan Students’ Union. M Cheye, the first president of Pang Students’ Union, shared insights into the union's challenging beginnings. The event featured a welcome address by VCC Pang K Hoamo, vote of thanks by Convenor Jubilee Planning Board K Puchiu, and unveiling of the Monolith and Jubilee Souvenir by the special guest.
