The seminar was held to motivate persons undergoing de-addiction and rehabilitation, where participants were taught various skills on vericompost, farming and apiculture.

With a long history of the drug menace in Noklak, Dr Pritpaul Kaur, SP Noklak mentioned that it was on the agenda list of the Noklak Police to help out people from the problem of drugs. The SP who is also a doctor has helped in counseling and providing OST treatment to persons under rehabilitation. With the police conducting many raids and following legal procedures, Dr Kaur expressed that the next step for real reformation of the persons in drug addiction must be dealt in an innovative approach where they can move ahead in their lives and career after completing their treatment.

“Providing skills training so that they can earn their own livelihood is one way. This could help them in income generation and their family requirements,” said Dr Kaur who guided the participants to avoid taking drugs and focus on one's career, “standing up again after failure, helping one’s own family and leading a good human life.”

“Khiamniungans are very talented and they should overcome these hurdles. Farming and livelihood skills makes everyone self sufficient and can help those persons also who will be finishing their treatment soon. We can't lose our youth just because of drugs,” said Dr Kaur who encouraged the participants that being self dependent and changing one's mindset in the right direction may help the society to grow in all domains of economy and self sufficiency.
