Kohima, October 27 (MExN): Himinthantluanga from Nagaland won boxing gold in the Men’s 56 to 60 kg weight class at the North East Olympics today.
Sekhotolü Puro also won bronze in badminton women singles today. With this, the Nagaland team has so far won seven medals in the event—four gold, one silver and two bronze.
Earlier on October 27; Imlisunep, Rongsenmeren, Widambo Renta and Neikhoto Tunyi claimed the bronze medal finishing the course in 43.83 seconds in the 4x100m relay at the ongoing 1st Northeast Olympic Games 2018 at Imphal, Manipur on October 27. Tsuchoi also won her second gold medal in the women’s 10,000 meters.
The Olympics drew to a cloase today at Khuman Lampak Stadium in Imphal. Manipur got the highest number of medals with 159 medals, including 80 Gold, 48 Silver and 31 Bronze medals in the Games. Assam stood second position securing 140 medals including 46 Gold, 53 Silver and 41 Bronze medals whereas Arunachal Pradesh stood third position securing 76 medals including 18 Gold, 20 Silver and 38 Bronze medals in the Games.
Athletes from eight states of the North East participated and competed against each other in 12 different sporting disciplines in the five days Games which started from October 24.
