Northeast India’s 'biggest children’s story writing competition' begins

Guwahati, August 25 (MExN): With an aim of providing a wider platform to the child writers of Northeast India and take the region’s literature to the world stage, Karadi Tales, a Chennai based children’s publishing giant and Guwahati Grand Poetry Festival, have collaborated to organise the "biggest children’s story writing competition" starting August 25. 

Guwahati Grand Poetry Festival is the region’s first and only regional, multilingual literary and arts forum.

Organised with the theme, ‘Northeast India’s vibrant indigenous culture, customs and folk tales,’ the submissions for the competition will be open until October 30 and the results will be declared on Children’s Day, November 14. The competition ois open for children up to the age of 16.

According to a press release, the winner of the competition will get an opportunity to publish the winning story with Karadi Tales besides being awarded with the winners’ trophy by the Guwahati Grand Poetry Festival.

Those submitting their stories early will win 10 early bird prizes consisting of Audio Books from Karadi Tales. Besides, participants will get their certificate of participation, it said.
