Wokha, June 2 (MExN): The Lotha Hoho had disassociated itself from the Naga Hoho in 2008. No wonder, then, that the Lotha Hoho is miffed that Naga Hoho “is still unaware of the fact” of its disassociation.
“This dissociation of Lotha Hoho (LH) from Naga Hoho was due to differences in the election of the President of Naga Hoho at Phek in 2008. This fact had been reaffirmed by the LH and published in all local media on September 6, 2016,” reiterated the LH in a press statement today from its President, Mhao Humtsoe, and General Secretary, Er. Mhondamo Ovung.
With regards to the Naga Hoho Federal Assembly held recently, the LH stated that it “will not recognise any Lotha individual or organisation, who may attend any programme/meeting of the Naga Hoho; but such an individual or organisation is deemed as self-styled and illegal.”
Further, it refuted the statement of the Naga Hoho “that organisations are being asked by a Naga National organisation not to attend the Federal Assembly of the NH.”
“Instead the LH is honouring the dissociation of the LH in 2008 from the NH and is not influenced by any organisation or individual; but the dissociation is based on the rift between the two hohos at Phek in 2008.”
The LH also reminded the Naga Hoho that the “Central Nagaland Tribes Council (CNTC), of which the LH is a constituent unit, had also dissociated from the Naga Hoho, vide media publication of September 1, 2016.” The Ao Senden and Sumi Hoho have already disassociated from the Naga Hoho and Eastern Nagaland tribes have a separate organization.
