Responds to allegation from WC-NNPGs
DIMAPUR, JUNE 28 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) on Wednesday responded to the statement made by the Working Committee of the Naga National Political Groups (WC-NNPGs) which cited certain media reports of Tangkhul village chiefs (Federation of Haomee) and Meiteis alleged decision to defend the territorial integrity of Manipur state.
MIP, NSCN (IM) in its rejoinder said the “bloated statement of NNPGs against NSCN” is coming with a “tinge of hypercritical tone.” It added that “nothing could be further from the truth.”
Through their statement, the NSCN (IM) said it noted the NNPGs “dissenting voices and frustration showing their helplessness to continue the Naga political struggle. It further alleged that the NNPGs “are no longer in control of themselves but somebody tightly holding the rein.” The NSCN (IM) accused them of showing their “true colors as hapless creatures…cowardly running away from the national path not wanting to be dictated and be guided by the national principle of one people one nation that has carried the Naga political movement for more than seventy years.”
“For the NNPGs, if the load of national struggle is too heavy to carry on, the door is wide open for you to make an exit and leave the struggle to bona fide Naga national workers. But to go the way of wolves in sheep’s clothing is an anathema and nothing else. What is repulsive and deceitful is also morally repugnant to national taste,” it said.
Also stating that the “world at large is at pain as the communal conflict in Manipur has taken the turn of state government sponsored pogrom,” the MIP rejoinder said it is “never the pleasure of NSCN in particular or the Nagas in general to be attracted by the troubled waters despite the unpleasant historical records.”
Accusing the WC-NNPGs of indulging in “wild allegations to score the elusive points against the NSCN,” the MIP said history will judge the WC-NNPGs for their “infidelity” and for “act of shameless perfidy.”
